So wiz, you're implying that Counter Strike: Source is the same thing as Doom 1 in a new box?
If new maps with new play styles isn't customization, what the hell is? Predetermined colors and hues on 25 items that are the same besides a logo for Red Bull?
I mean, take a look at this screenshot of a game running on Half Life 2's engine:
Now, if you're talking as in upgrades to the character itself (in game), then you obviously have never heard of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. It has an RPG-esque system in that you can choose your clothes, your "artifact," (Things that formed as a result of the fallout in Chernobyl, that upgrade your health, your ability to withstand bullets, ect) even your "faction" based on in-game choices ..You can even drink vodka to lower your radiation levels. This in addition to numerous other things.
But you're right on the money with the "base it on some war no one cares about any more" claim. I mean who cares about the wars portrayed in Battlefield 2.
