There's no denying it, even though the PlayStation 3 may be the most late, most expensive, and most, um, well ventilated of this this generation's consoles, Sony's also going out of their way to make the device appear as versatile as possible. So hell, if your machine is going to burn energy when not in use, best to put that power suck toward a good cause, right? Stanford and Sony have announced that PlayStation 3s will be able to participate in Cure@PS3, making gamers' consoles massively parallelized computing nodes for the Folding@Home project. (You're on Engadget's Folding@Home team, right?) Right up top is a taste of the eye candy that awaits those who dedicate their Cell processor to stamping out cancer with the Stanford crew, but the veneer doesn't stop there: click on for a slew of sexy new PS3 pics that just surfaced. http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/23/playsta...e-for-cure-ps3/

QUOTE(Gamb @ Aug 23 2006, 09:45 PM) Why is every other topic you make something about PS something? Because that's the only new console I like, why does that matter so much to you? Are you also trying to hate on the pink PS2's and PSP's? Because motorola has made tons of money with the pink Razr.

QUOTE(Harold @ Aug 23 2006, 10:00 PM) I did folding@home, it really slowed down my computer. The got quite loud. Yea, that's why they only made it of use when you put the console on standby.

QUOTE(FeRgY @ Aug 23 2006, 11:42 PM) I'm not whining and no I'm not insecure, I just thought it was abnormal to question someone's posting habits. If you don't like the way I post then you don't have to respond to it, simple as that. I could complain all the time about topics that I find stupid but I don't. Everyone has the opportunity to post what they want as long as it fits in the criteria of the forum, and that should be respected.
I don't mind the topic or your 'posting habits' but, I was just wondering why every topic you start usually has something to do with PS.

QUOTE(ROOK Master wiz @ Aug 24 2006, 08:48 AM) I think it's just another way for the government and who ever else to keep track of what your doing. or not doing. Yea, alot of people on the PS forum were skeptical too and will be turning off the console by its main power switch. Most of them were worried about people finding out about their porn I'll be turning it off by the switch because there's really no point in using standby if it burns the console life and electricity, unless you really want to contribute to this.
