There's no denying it, even though the PlayStation 3 may be the most late, most expensive, and most, um, well ventilated of this this generation's consoles, Sony's also going out of their way to make the device appear as versatile as possible. So hell, if your machine is going to burn energy when not in use, best to put that power suck toward a good cause, right? Stanford and Sony have announced that PlayStation 3s will be able to participate in Cure@PS3, making gamers' consoles massively parallelized computing nodes for the Folding@Home project. (You're on Engadget's Folding@Home team, right?) Right up top is a taste of the eye candy that awaits those who dedicate their Cell processor to stamping out cancer with the Stanford crew, but the veneer doesn't stop there: click on for a slew of sexy new PS3 pics that just surfaced.

Ya I believe this news has been around or w/e for awhile. I could be wrong. I think it's just another way for the government and who ever else to keep track of what your doing. or not doing. as for the pink stuff. it's pretty bad ass. and as for his posting habits... well there topics he happens to like and perhaps thinks that other people may be inlightened by them as well. and lets face it. PS is way more fun to post about then lets say the 3-6-gay. In anycase to stay on topic I don't think I will be letting people use my shit for this unless they decide to pay me and none of this 3 cents an hour or w/e. if your going to use my electricity which I don't even pay for then I should atleast make something. lmao. and besides won't that shorten the life span of the console. You want to use my console for research then you buy me the console, pay for my internet, and a portion of the electricity.

Yea, alot of people on the PS forum were skeptical too and will be turning off the console by its main power switch. Most of them were worried about people finding out about their porn happy.gif I'll be turning it off by the switch because there's really no point in using standby if it burns the console life and electricity, unless you really want to contribute to this.
