I got my 360 two days ago, on my birthday. How do you get XBoxLive? Do I need to purchase something, or what?

It comes with a 1 month free trial of Xbox Live. Look for a Card that has a code on it. Then click on Xbox Marketplace. And then click on Redeem Code. And enter it in there. And you will get 1 month of Xbox Live Gold. But, After that you have to go to join Xbox live. And Select the way you want to pay. ( $4.99 / month or $49.99 / year ). Then you will have to enter your billing info. Or if you don't have a credit card, you can buy Microsoft point cards in the stores and use those to get xbox live.
