Opening Notes: This game may look like cod4 just reskinned, and this looks true from videos but it is still a great game. There are also trophies.
Features, controls, etc:
The controls are virtually the ame as in cod4. So if you are used to cod4 controls, you will have no problem jumping in and playing.
COD:WAW is featured in WW2. The weapons are up course in ww2 era, but they certainly are still very fun like modern weapons.
There are smgs, mg, snipers, shotgun, etc liek you would expect. The new addition is the flamethrower. Let me tell you. The flamethrower is bad-ass.
Flamethrowers can light anything it touches on fire, including enemies. I don't want to give spoilers, but the flamethrower will be used in one of the levels.
Story: *spoilers may be present!!*
The game opens with you and one of your fellow soldiers being captured. Your friend is being tortured by Germans. He of course does not give any information, so he
gets slit in the throat. A nice blood effect from the slice splatters on the wall. Before the Germans get a chance to turn to you, you are saved by more allies. Once you
are saved, you pick up an automatic gun and put almsot right into the action.
I have not beaten the game yet, but it has alot of cod4 feel in it. The loading screens look very similar to cod4's but with no cool high-tech view of the world. It is replaced with a mix of
videos and real-life video in world war 2. Also, the controls are the same, the style seems the same aswell.

*SPOILER*******!!
You will soon come across what you immeditently think of as a cod4 sniper mission. I will not give too much spoilers, but you do snipe and take down a certain person. This mission I find is better than cod4's as there are PLENTY of actions sequences.
*END OF SPOILER*
That brings me to the action its self. This game has A LOT of action in it. Way more than cod4, which is good. There are more explosions, close-up actions sequences and many more action bits.
The story itself is pretty good. It has Nazi, but also has Japanese soldiers. They hid in grass waiting to ambush you as you will soon find out once you play a few missions in. These get pretty sneaky and these sections will certainly gets you off guard if you don't pay attention, especially on
the hard and veteran difficulties.
That is all I have for Story ATM as I haven't played through it all yet, but trust me it is a good pick-up.
Co-op:
Not much info here yet since I haven't done co-op, but I know there is 4 player co-op single player.
Zombie Mode:
I do not know any info about it as of yet.
Multiplayer:
Again, have not played it yet, but the lobbies and briefing areas look the same to me as cod4, just reskinned. The beta people will be able to say more about this.
Closing Statements**
I give Call of Duty: World at War for the PlayStation 3 a 10/10
The textures look GREAT. On ps3, the game supports up to 1080P (LOOKS VERY NICE ON MY 40" bravia)
While the game may LOOK like cod4 and have sort of the same fell to it, this game is a great buy and definitely worth $60.
*My first review actually. Spelling and grammar errors may be present very often since I kind of rushed it to get it out and I just typed in in notepad since my internet was down.
*PS* Please get it for ps3, people. I want to play co-op or zombie mode or multiplayer with you guys.
I got it at 5pm Monday night at gamestop. They released it to reserves but it is available today. <-- For those wondering how I got it early. (Manly for ppl on PSn and BIZorzdizzorz)
I also might have left a lot out because I forgot, but get it.
* Also this game should not be compared to cod4. I love both games. They should be separate and don't rule out waw because it looks like cod4.
