* Click Start
* Click Control Panel
* Click Display applet
* Click the Appearance tab
* Click the Effects box
* Click Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:

If you're judging from my second screenshot, than yes, it does look pretty bad. I even think so myself, but it's just the font that makes it look terrible I think. 'Cause here's another screenshot from my other computer which looks so much better..
