clear is pretty much like an adjective. if you say clear yellow, thats just describing that the yellow object is translucent. clear is not a color, its an adjective.

yellow would also be an adjective so that doesn't really make a difference in this discussion. what color is the bus. it's yellow. yellow is an adjective. what color are the bus windows. there clear.

hmm...clear is just something that's translucent that's all. clear is not a color because its just not in the spectrum.

if you look at a window, you only see the surface of it because there is dust on it, a reflection on it, a smudge on it, or any combination of those. the window might also be tinted. idk though.

my argument that im gonna stick with is that clear is not in the spectrum and therefore is not a color. there is not a single place on the spectrum just for clear, so it is not a color.

but then...black and white are not on it either...

I do not see clear on this list

and also the phrase "Roy G. Biv" which add up all the colors of a rainbow...no where in there is a clear...


So a solution to the question "What color is your (insert item here)?"

Just say "It doesnt have a color, its clear"

white and black are colors though...check that list of colors i put in one of my posts. black and white are in the list of colors, so they're colors. and yet, your color wheel does not have white in it, and roy g biv doesnt have black or white in it. there is a contradiction here, so one of you is wrong.

we arent talking about painting ooompa, we are talking about the light spectrum, so the rainbow is like the color wheel of the light spectrum... so you could just replace everything I posted up there with a pic of a rainbow.. still no black or white or clear....

You can see through clear.. and you can see colors behind clear.. which means clear doesnt add a tint to any color... aka clear is not a color
