Microsoft has released a enw veriosn of there 360 called the elite. earlier code named zephyer or some shit. Anyways this upgraded 360 offers a flat PS3 black color a 120 gig hdd and an HDMI port for a whopping $480. hmm no wireless connection, no hd dvd drive, what gives?. Here are some of my favorite qoutes about this slap in the face from microsoft in there attempt to try and out do the PS3. which will never happen.

The lack of an HD-DVD drive is a sign that Microsoft's lost confidence in the format. Calling a bigger hard drive and a new video port "Elite" is a joke. I would recommend against this purchase because in another year-and-a-half there will probably be a new "Extra Elite" version with some true improvements. That Microsoft thinks a 120 gig hard drive is worth $180 is proof that they have their heads up Master Chief's ass.

ya, it's a pretty dumb idea to me. I mean everything is black. ( controllers, Play & Charge kit, Headset, and console). If anything i would just buy the HD if i really needed to. It's just bad it's $179.

Ya that does suck. I haven't found any reason to need a biger hdd for my 360. but if it comes down to where I do need one I might get one. but you figure I spent $400 on the 360 and another $180 for the hdd seperate. might as well of been a PS3. Oh well.

I also hear that the PS3 is all ready rumored to be updating the PS3 w/ a bigger hdd. So I dunno.

When you can use any 2.5" SATA hard drive, I don't think there really is a reason to.

Yeah you can attach any 2.5" SATA hard drive to the PS3 so theres no real reason for Sony to upgrade the PS3 its already the full package.

I dont see any reason to buy the elite version.. I dont need 120 gigs of space... 60 gigs on my ps3 is plenty...

is it just me or in the past every console gen have extra periphials that end up cost more money then theyre worth always end up failing?

people dont buy consoles to have to deal with all the things pc gamers deal with. and time and time again the majority of "console expansions" or products intended to "ehance" the experiance on the console fail to make users want to use them.
3 versions of the genisis anyone? why such bad support for multitaps for the first duo of PS? the HDD a flop for ps2? the NES's ROB? or dare i even mention the POWERGLOVE??? the dreamcast modem or microphone??? or even the gamecube modem? the e-reader for GBA???? all the super scopes over time......

gamers dont liek to spend extra money on things they wont use... things like this need to be thought through more thoroughly before they are slammed on us and the only response we can make is WTF?

honestly MS shoudl know better...
