I was skating I decided when I was on the ground. Cause i suck. I decided that I would buy a freestyle board. Is this a good buy. Or is it another one of my stupid ideas. i like the skids on the tail and nose because my tails and noses look like triangles. Or spears. Ha. I am into freestyle. I can't do anything except railstand combos. My favorite is the primo slide. It's fun. I think it is my style, but I never had one. What do you think??
I dunno, I've never had a freestyle board, maybe look at Rodney Mullen pro decks. I'm not sure, really. It's just his might be different than the average Element skateboard.
there isn't really a difference. His boards might have more or less concave, which you should look into. Other than that, if you can't do it on a skateboard, buying a new one probably won't help you land a certain trick. Unless you're trying to freestyle on a 8" at which point I would recommend 7.5" or 7.65" for freestyle
The freestyle board has different trucks. Like it would help you with like a railstand or a primo. Aronl on YouTube has one and explains it there. All the boards that i have are 7.5. I think it would help because I can do some flatland tricks. Like the pogo. If your doing that in your combo it just take the tail up the ass. The reason I decided this because the boards I have are trashed and they aren't even that old. The skids would help this. I don't remember the website, but you can get any deck any trucks and whatever for about $100. It comes with bonus stuff too. I think this will be a yes for a buy. I am interested in them and the style. Then i will hopefully be a better skater. I still can't kickflip. it is pissing me off.
If you wanna keep street skating, but just feel you aren't very good, just keep practicing man. I was getting frustrated a while ago when I couldn't kickflip like you, but now that I can kickflip every so often, it's gotten my confidence up.
Dude I have been skating for about 7 years. I think it should be a given. lol. i know practice. It just pisses me off. The problems I have with the kickflip is either the front or back foot is off. I do the flick. I landed it once. It was sketchy...
And when I skate stairs my friend say I like twitch when I do it.
Just keep practicing, and I recommend you get those trucks if you think they will help. As for the kickflips, you will get better at them, it's almost impossible to get worse. It's a good idea to try fakie flips while you're learning, they are actually easier. Nailing the footing problem is just looking at the board. You have to do each step one at a time. Look down when you're in the air, and when you see the grip tape again plant your feet back and you should nail it.
The problem i am having with the kickflips is when I flick it with my foot it flips like it is suppose to. But when I land my back foot hits first wich makes me fall. hope that makes sence. I think I'll get the board. It's not like i am stuck with it. I can give it to a friend or other option. But I highly doubt I will hate it. And plus I still got my regular Enjoi Board. Thank you for your opinions. ha.
you have to lean forward ( the direction of your front foot) and keep your back foot up until your front foot hits first
Huh? Wouldn't that do the same thing vice versa. I don't get it. I can get it. It just pisses me off. So I like chicken out or don't go through with it. It's like the bigspin. I can land bigspins more than kickflips though. I am skating right now...
No, if you lean towards the nose your front foot doesn't land first. Just try it out.

I would check out some rodney mullen boards at your local skate shop or perhaps other enjoi boards which I'm pretty sure he skates for. As long as its 7.625 or 7.5 you should be alright. If you go bigger than 7.625 it will be harder to flip in and out. Also I don't know if they still make them, but see if you can't find an Element feather light. My buddy used to have one and they are really easy to flip, but they break a little easier.
They don't have any at my local skate shops. They don't have skids or the flat tail and nose which the freestyle board is equipped with.
Do you live in Kansas or something? Ha, thats really weird that they dont have any mullen boards though
I live in Mesa, Arizona. All they have are regular boards. No freestyle boards are at local shops. Because it is old school. They have Mullen Boards. They just don't have the freestyle boards... Is there a website for cheap completes...
